As a mother of two who has lived in four countries, I currently call Thailand home. My journey across continents and cultures has deepened my understanding of how systemic oppression intersects with personal identity, the politics of sexual and reproductive health and rights, and the challenges many minority groups face in exercising these rights.
My passion for the foster care and adoptive community stems from my background as an adoptee from Brazil, raised in Sweden.
Traveling back to Brazil to reconnect with my roots was essential in helping me understand the many layers of my identity. The experience profoundly shaped me as a woman, a parent, and a human being, influencing every dimension of my life.
While I carry a strong recognition of the privileges I've had (growing up in safety, surrounded by love, and having access to strong educational opportunities that many are denied) I was still raised in a racially color-blind society that rendered parts of me invisible
